HA3 Task 3 Genre Deconstruction

World of Warcraft

1.        Genre: MMO
2.        Content: Colours: Varies from area to area. style: fantasy
3.        Construction: Two primary factions, lots of quests, faction vs faction raids, lots of leveling.
4.        Codes and conventions: Level and skill system, multiplayer.
5.        Modes of address: Tells you "you are the one who will save everyone!" then tells the same thing to all the other players.
6.        Target Audience: late twenties, typically male.
7.        Constraints: limits of the engine, age rating, amount of people playing at once, amount of attacks.

APB Reloaded

1.        Genre: MMO
2.        Content: Colours: gray, white, blue, red. style: modern crime.
3.        Construction: Two factions, missions appear commonly, criminal activity/ police work.
4.        Codes and conventions: Shooting, driving, multiplayer.
5.        Modes of address: Tips & early game contacts give basic idea of how to play.
6.        Target Audience: late teens - mid/late 20s
7.        Constraints: Limits of engine, age rating, amount of players playing at once, amount of gunfire/explosions.

World of Tanks

1.        Genre: MMO
2.        Content: Colours: green, orange, white, gray. style: 19-20th century tank warfare.
3.        Construction: Two teams, 6 factions full of tanks, 15 players per team, click battle then wait for match to be ready. 
4.        Codes and conventions: Shooting, driving, tanks, explosions.
6.        Target Audience: early teens- late 20/30's +
7.        Constraints: Limits of engine, amount of gunfire/explosions.
